Swedish/Relaxation.
This is a relaxation-oriented form of massage and is the classic idea of what most people think of first when they think about massage. As the best-known type of bodywork performed today, one of the primary goals of the Swedish massage technique is to relax the entire body. Swedish massage is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension. Aromatherapy may be added to enhance relaxation.
Deep Tissue.
Deep tissue massage therapy is similar to Swedish massage, but uses deeper pressure to release chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia. As such, it uses more intense kneading techniques than Swedish. While it's true that a deep tissue massage is generally more intense than that of a Swedish massage, it doesn’t have to be painful to be effective. Request it if you want more pressure than a classic Swedish massage offers, or if you have aches and pains.
Sensual.
Massage in itself is inherently sensual. There are different kinds of sensual massages that depend on the kind of intensity that you are looking for. Sensual massage is still therapeutic massage, except the masseur also gives attention to the erogenous zones of the body. Allow yourself to surrender to the moment without shame, or fear of judgment. If you want something more risqué, you can try a slippery body to body (Nuru) massage where the masseur uses their entire body to massage yours.
Thankfully, you don’t need to choose just one type - you can choose to blend two of them.
